K-43 (Kansas highway)
K-43 is a 20.718-mile (33.34 km) state highway in the U.S. state of Kansas. The highway runs from K-4 in Hope north to Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 40 north of Detroit. The entire highway is located within Dickinson County. K-43 is maintained by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Route description
K-43 begins at an intersection with K-4 in Hope. The highway heads north through a rural area before turning east and entering the community of Navarre. The route crosses the BNSF Railway in Navarre before turning north, continuing through farmland and crossing the railway again before it reaches Enterprise. In Enterprise, K-4 crosses the railroad a third time before continuing north. The highway runs to the east of Abilene, the county seat of Dickinson County, at this point. It meets the BNSF a fourth time before crossing the Union Pacific Railroad in Detroit. K-4 turns east in Detroit before heading north to its terminus at Exit 281 of Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 40.[2][3]
